About the craftsman
Mickaël, age 35, wood turner
I was born in the Charente département of France, which is where my workshop is located, in Charras, near Angoulême. I’ve always been passionate about wood. I inherited the tools I needed to get started in woodturning, in particular to make pens.
I’ve been experimenting and improving my working techniques for over ten years. I started with simple techniques and materials and have since had the opportunity to turn over 500 species of wood as well as alternative materials such as resin and horns.
When you buy from a craftsman, you’re giving them the opportunity to continue working and making a living from their passion, so they can keep creating new things.
